That'll do presents......

Quick moan here....Don't you just hate it when your kids get 'that'll do presents!
My Brother and SIL sent my 9 year old daughter a watch.. lovely you may think but its one of those first watches that have the past and to on the hands.. it is a first watch she had one similar when she was 5 or 6 and begining to tell the time. Luckly they weren't arround to see her dissapointed face.
We were going to get her a pink digital watch that she had seen in Toys R us.. but they stopped setting them about a fortnight ago apparently.... any ideas where I can get a kids (not to young) pink or obviously girls digital watch from... once I've taken this one back!

btw.. I am grateful that they remembered her birthday.. just fedup that they didn't ask what she wanted, as I always get what nephew wants.

ASDA? I got a nice one for DD and a great one for me (mine was £15 dd's was £9 - I think)

I've seen the argos one.. Its a baby g one I think... the new argos book is out on saturday so I'll have another look in that..

Now Asda.. we have a super store nearby.. maybe I'll go tomorrow night.. did you buy it recently?

dd2 got a nice pink swatch but she is only 5 - it's quite a cool one though. It's called a flik- flak. Presumably lots of jewellers sell them - can't remember where we got it from sorry. Think it cost less than 20 quid.

Mine is analogue (& red) about 5/6 weeks ago DD's (pink)was a while ago - but they had a whole stand of nice watches on Sunday last week

not as bad as "pass ons". Once got a present i had bought for dds friend back a year later for dd's birthday. I know it was the same one.

Thanks for that... Isn't it funny, I've trapsed the shops recently, I've been to every jewellers, woolies, clairs accessories, you name it but i didn't think of asda.

I think what annoys me about my brother and sil is that they get stuff for my kids that is often to young for my them. They have a younger son so I know they probably don't know what an 7 and 9 year old want, but they've only got to ask me or my mum and we could give them an A4 list of thing that are probably under a £10 that the kids would love...
So how do I play this one.. do I tell them it was too young for her... ask them were they got it so I can take it back, or just force daughter to write a thank you letter saying its great!
Apparently sil is very organised and buys things when she see's them and puts them away for xmas and birthdays... Mum reckons she has the Kids xmas pressies already!

I love the Casio one from HS Samuels its just what I'm after.. but do you know I was in our local branch yesterday and they had nothing for girls!.. I have the stock number so I will ring them...

Last christmas(well October actually) I sent note to ask what the nephews, neices were into so that I didnt waste time and money buying something inappropriate. I added a footnote to mention the kind of thing my DS was into and also said that if they had already purchased then please dont feel compelled to fit what I had mentioned. I didnt get one reply, neither did my DS get any of what i mentioned might be of interest. I thought this was rude of them as I was making the effort to please their kids.

LSS-I emailed my sil to ask what her kids wanted for christmas, I never got a reply. Her children never say "thank you" either. Its my nephew's birthday tomorrow so I have just sent a cheque in a card, not very inventive I know but what else can you do (she works odd hours and is very hard to get hold of on the phone)

Morning all

Far be it for me to moan.. but my friend brought daughter a pressie... its a lovely vest top from H & M but its aged 6/7... daughter was 9 yesterday, ok I can well believe she picked up the wrong size... but it looks so small as well, i'm supprised she didn't notice.. so thats something else I've got to go and change.. sigh..
