Slings for older babies?

Are there any? I'd really like one for DD (a week of 9 months).

I'm by myself with her, and sometimes shopping is a nightmare when she gets restless, wants to be carried, then I have to juggle baby, pram, basket/trolley

I feel I could carry her in a sling pretty easily, she is 21 lbs now and hurts my arm to carry her for too long, but I don't think it'd be so bad if her weight was spread out as it would be in a sling. Front facing if at all possible

Any suggestions? TIA

yes we have a Patapum toddler carrier, it's a backpack, it takes a little used to to put the child in it if you are on your own, but I have carried DSs in it until they were 2.5. Not regularely, just the odd walk in the forest/at the farm or when going to the airport and coulnd't be asked with a buggy. They are expensive but solid and very convenient. There is also the Hippy Chick hip seat, but I haven't tried it.

I used a Patapum Toddler Carrier when DD was 9 months. She is 2 yrs, 7 months now, and still fits in it! It's very comfy for both of us, and I recall it wasn't ridiculously overpriced...I felt like it was worth the cost totally.

HTH!

I use an ERGObaby carrier. My DD is a year old but it's still really comfortable and distributes the weight very well. It doesn't face front at all but you can carry on your front, back or hip with it.

Do you want a sling or a carrier?

i have an actual sling, kind of like a ring sling, but called a bubba oe. It is designed to be used up until 18kgs - which is ummmmmmmmmmm, let me convert - tooo early this am!! - about 38 pounds!!! So fabulous from toddlers to babies. LOVE my bubba Moe.

I have carried DS2 in it until a few months ago (as am heavily pregnant now!!) and he jsut turned three. He STILL asks to be put in it sometimes!

I have a wrap sling (mine's a calin bleu but they're all the same, just a long bit of overpriced fabric!), worn DS since birth, he's now 18mo. I love it, it's recommended not to do forward facing due to the strain on your bab's pelvis, so I've graduated to carrying him on my back. Really spreads the weight and easy once you get used to it

Ive got DS 12mth asleep in mei tai as i type, very comfy can't feel him..
We've also got a Rose and rebellion (back or front carry) and a hot sling (hip carry at this age) I had a stretchy wrap but at 9/10 mth (16lb) got too heavy.. Loads about its just knowing what..
