baby bath - when no shower - till what age? can you get a toddler size tub?!

Another question tonight - our 8 and a half month old is getting a bit cramped in the baby bath that we use in the base of our shower. We don't have an adult bath tub in our house but I feel a bit bad that he doesn't get to have a good old splash around and to play with any bath toys.
I wondered if anyone else was in this position - or could recommend a really big bath with loads of spare room or is that wishful thinking?
Someone gave us one of those ring supports but we haven't got round to using it. Would be a change for him but wouldn't enable him to splash around..

Do you have a garden? Soon you can have him in a paddling pool outside and he can splash all day long.

Or put a small paddling pool in your bathroom.

Or use a plug in the bottom of the shower and turn it into a shallow bath.

Or buy a huge plastic storage box and use that.

We are having our bathroom renovated atm and so our (large) nearly 2 year old DD is back in her plastic Mamas and Papas baby bath. She loves it and has enough room for a couple of toys. It's not a huge bath, but it's big enough.

I should mention that the bathroom is taking forever, so she has been using the bath for about three months and the novelty hasn't worn off .

Hi stuckperson!

We are in a similar situation. We moved house when ds was 18months and he was used to the bath, bed routine but the new house didn't have a bath but walk-in-shower.

Luckily, we had a baby-bath that we put at the bottom of the shower and he sits in that. He's now 22 months and still in it.

Obviously, he can't splash too much or he'll completely soak the bathroom but thats somethine he loves to do! He's even learnt to say "no splashing" to his toys and then he throws them in the water and says "nooo!" Funny, cute but does get mummy very wet!

The bath we have is just a large white tub really. He will soon grow out of it, but at the moment happily sits in it. We will have to move to showers when he gets too big!

I wouldn't worry about not having loads of room to splash and play with toys - they don't need it. Bathtime is just for washing really!

Thanks all, nice to know others have been in same position, I'm just being a bit of a worrier at the moment!
