I've applied for DLA but consultants report says I'm fine

I have MS and applied for DLA. On my most recent visit to my consultant- both him and the MS nurse (who was also present at the consultation) said I should apply and I would be eligible for the highest DLA award. I recently got the DLA decision saying I was not entitled to any DLA whatsoever. I asked for any medical reports and the consultant had put down that I am fully able and have no problems with my mobility. I spoke to my mS nurse and she said that he gets muddled up with which patient is which so probably just forgot who I was. It seems there is nothing I can do about this tho. I have appealed but who is going to listen to me over a consultant? I have also got my GP and MS nurse to write a report but it seems they are just ignoring these. Any ideas/help? Thanks

. I work in hospital admin, and the consultants always ask for patients' medical records when DLA correspondence comes in, so they aren't relying on memory! I would write in to the consultant with a copy of his report, and say you are confused by what he has put, hopefully he will put things right for you, and write in to support the appeal.
