7 week old reverted to 2-hourly feeds

Up to about a week ago, my DD was BFing every 3 to 4 hours. She has just started going 5 to 6 hours at night, but at the same time seems to have reverted to wanting to feed every 2 or at best 3 hours during the day. I feel we're going backwards. She is demand BFing but I wsould love to ger her into a routine (for my convenience, I know). I was thinking a 4-hourly routine. How do I do that, now that she screams for a feed a couple of hours fter the last one?

TBh, you can't really, at this age it is still pretty much damand feeding, and she could be hitting or coming through another growth spurt.

Go with the flow and feed as needed, stock up on chocolate and dvd's and books.

I know sometimes its not that easy...manky number 3 was a frequent feeder day and night for months, but we did get there eventually!

Does sound like a growth spurt. Some people give specific weeks for them, I've found they are every 2-4 weeks for the first 3 months... Tend to only last 24-48 hours.
But like Manky says, routines and very small babies really don't really go together, especially not BF ones.
The more she feeds in the day, the more calories you are getting in her, and the more she may sleep at night...
Just enjoy putting your feet up, eating chocolate and having a cuddle / watching TV. My DS2 is now feeding 3-4 hours, and in 15 mins, and bizarrely I now miss those feeding / cuddle frenzies

Can I just ask - do you go 4 hours without having a drink or a snack? Babies have such tiny tummies - about the size of both their fists.

Thanks for your input. I thought the gerneral consensus would be to go with it. It's hard, when I have my mum and sister both saying routine routine!
