OK, I feel we need a set routine to get us back to doing useful things. In our house there is me, a sahm who is just starting an ebay/craft fair venture, DP, who works 1-9pm M-F and takes about half an hour to commute, DD1, who is three, currently usually has a daytime nap that I am trying to drop and is about to start nursery three days a week 1-4 pm and DD2 who is five months, just starting solids but mainly bf and quite clingy. We have DPs parents round the corner, who are retired.
OK, how does this sound?
7am - me and the girls get up, breakfast, get dressed and then a bit of cbeebies/chilling out with a brew and the paper as a reward if we get ourselves ready in good time (DD1 is a nightmare to get dressed atm and fights every step) DP can have a bit of a lie in as he works till quite late, but he needs to get himself up and any internetting done (he is a wow addict and loves arguing about politics on fb) before...
9am Start an activity of some kind. Gardening, craft, playgroup, a walk, baking, etc. NO TV OR INTERNET and any radio or newspapers can only be as we do something "proper" or as part of a family activity. This is family time.
11am Start preparing lunch together and get it eaten by...
12 midday get ourselves sorted out ready to set off in good time for nursery/work.
1-4 pm DD1 at nursery, DP at work, hopefully DD2 will bf, nap or play while I get my work done, or sit in a sling or pram if I need to run errands.
4pm pick DD1 up from Nursery, come home on bus
4.30pm start preparing tea, DDs can play or watch some tv
5pm Teatime
5.30pm Baths if needed, quiet time with stories and cuddles
6pm Bedtime for DD1(atm bedtime is 7.30, but that is with a massive 3 hour daytime nap, so bedtime needs to be earlier if we are dropping DD1s nap) BF and cuddle with DD2
6.30pm Bedtime for DD2
Then I have a quick tidy round, do the washing up and stick a load of laundry in, do any work on the computer that I might need to, ring my family, then I can chill out for the rest of the night unless the kids can't sleep or something.
DP home at 9.30pm, we could eat a snack together or have a glass of wine and a chat or just go online or read until bedtime.
Does that sound do-able? I'm a bit wobbly about sending DD1 to nursery anyway, but hopefully it will give me the chance to get going with my work. She has a place 5 afternoons, but I think I will only send her for 3, then we have one day for daytrips and another for her dancing lesson and maybe going to play at the ILs.
