you are meant to wash it 1st to increase absorbancy.

  1. wash it. preferably a couple of times before use.

  1. how long has he had it on? they do need changing more often than disposables.

  2. wouldn't bother with liner, although i don't think that would cause it to leak.

  3. are his clothes tight? if you have the wrap done up too tight, or if his vest (or anything else between his legs) is a bit short/tight then that can cause leakage

If you're using a size 1, doesn't it have a built-in fleece liner? If so, then you don't need the paper liner.
