Last time he had it was Monday night.
Still asking for it occasionally, I just say I don't know where it is, and distract him.
he is 2 1/2.
When will he forget about it???!!!

do you mind if I ask how did you get rid of it? We're planning on doing the dummy fairy thing with DS soon when he's 2 1/2. Dreading it.

I'd like to know too, my DS is 2.7 and I'm beginning to despair of his love for his doo doo!

I thought about the dummy fairy, but didn't think he would react well to it. We always say throw it away to the birds, and he would throw it, but then get all stroppy and cry, so I just thought I would try ignoring it for a while.
He doesn't have it a lot, but asks for it a lot and whinges about it. Holds it most of the time.
So I just decided that whenever he asks for it, I say don't know where it is, laugh about it and distract him. He hasn't had one strop at all, but has asked for it occasionally. I think we are getting there.

Hi startagain

We got rid of our DS 2.5 dummy three weeks ago. We said to him that he was a big boy now and if he threw away his dummies we would buy him a present. He threw them away happily but the first bedtime without a dummy was hellish and my heart was breaking for him. He was fine after that, no more tantrums and stopped asking after about 2.5 weeks.
