How to punish this one?

DS#1 has an X-box. I have bought him X-Box live points with my debit card on. He wanted some more and I said I'd think about it. Lo and behold when I checked my statement this morning £17 taken off my account by X-Box live . All he has to do is click 'OK' and it debits my card. I might have been daft to allow this to happen but I trusted him.

I rang him this morning when I found out. I explained that I didn't mind him having the points but it was completely wrong to do this without my permission. He was sorry but I need him to know that it is serious. He to all extents and purposes stole money from me.

What best to do? Remove the X-Box? Make him do chores to pay for it? (I favour the second as it happens!)

chores to pay for it and a two day ban on his x box I reckon

how old is he?

LaurieFairyCake · 26/03/2010 16:49

Both - X-box gone for a week, pocket money deducted (or chores done to pay for it)

both- with xbox gone until debt is paid.

He's 13. He doesn't get pocket money.

He works to pay you back the £17 (the chores you hate and don't take too much skill like washing the car, fence painting etc & remove Xbox until he has.

Remove cc from Xbox billing - if it's not straightforward, can ask dh if you like.

No it's OK. I think I can cope dinah

There are some luverly chores I can think of him that I've been avoiding for ages... .

It's just the last straw this week. And I feel like just letting it go. But I know I can't.
