Just an idea...

Hi

I don't know if everyone is doing this as a matter of course.... but I'm sharing it in case anyone fancies having a go, hasn't thought of it before or hasn't got round to it yet..

Writing a letter to each of your children as a 'just in case'- i.e in case you peg it unexpectedly.

I know it sounds really maudlin and depressing and yes, you'll probably boo your eyes out whilst doing it but ...

a)If the worst ever happens you'll know you've done it and feel reassured they know
you loved them and have told them so.
b)You'll appreciate your kids even more once you've been through the experience as you think about serious stuff like not having each other around.

Just thought I'd pop it in as I've spent the last two hours weeping and smiling whilst writing.

(One friend of mine would never do this and thinks me weird as hell so we're all different!!!!)

Happy typing.
xx

I think its a nice idea, after all we all leave wills to sort out the financial side of death, but rarely think to leave help for the emotional side of things.

I do little letters every now and then, keeping them safe, usually they are a description of what we have been up to but do include my hopes and dreams for the future for DD and me.

so i agree whole heartedly that it is a nice thing to do and not maudlin or depressing at all.
