I used to change dd every three hours, plus whenever she pooed or got overly wet, so I used to go through about 6 or 7 a day.

Lonelymum · 21/07/2005 13:35

I use about 3 too. Generally speaking, one at night, one in the morning and one after lunch. Might use another one if the poo arrives at an unusual time. My ds3 is 2.5 and about to be potty trained, but I should think he has only used 3-4 nappies a day since he was about a year old.

From what I remember, at that age, I was using 1 when he woke up, 1 when he went down for a nap and 1 at bedtime. Then there was usually 1 other change at sometime during the day, depending on when he pooed. He seemed happy and never suffered any nappy rashes!

PiccadillyCircus · 21/07/2005 13:38

Me personally, none .

DS (20 months) when he's at home with me probably about 3 during the day and one at night (unless there is a poo emergency). When he's at nursery he is always changed at least 3 times during the time he's there and has first thing in the morning and last thing at night ones as well.

MrsDoolittle · 21/07/2005 13:38

3 here.
These are reuasble nappies though, and another for overnight

NomDePlume · 21/07/2005 13:39

DD is 2.11 and is totally disinterested in pooty training. I would say we get through around 5/6 a day.

She has a change when she wakes at 7am, one when she does a no2 at around 10am, another wet one around 12.30, a fresh one when she wakes from her nap at around 3pm, then a night-time one after her bath. Obviously more if she is a little more 'regular' in the bowel dept.

I will say that I use more in the summer than I do in the winter as DD drinks like a fish in the warmer weather.

elliott · 21/07/2005 14:03

Same as lonelymum. Ds2 (19 months) gets a change first thing in the mornign and a change before or after his nap, and other than that only if he's pooed. I feel I probably should change him more though - ds1 was pooing about 4 times a day at this age!

Magscat · 21/07/2005 14:04

About 6. DD is 6.5 months & we use cotton nappies

Lio · 21/07/2005 14:10

About 5 - 4 washable and one disposable.

Windermere · 21/07/2005 14:39

About 4. Ds is 11 months.

Aero · 21/07/2005 14:50

3-4

QueenOfQuotes · 21/07/2005 14:51

3-4 depending on poos - and has been that way since he was little.

hub2dee · 21/07/2005 15:55

Can I mini-hijack and ask for similar numbers used for younger babies, say 0-6 / 12 months ? Approx 10 per day sound about right ? (Putting together cloth nappy order). TIA.

Kelly1978 · 21/07/2005 16:39

my dts are 4 mhths and only get thru 3-4 each now. I think the most they ever got thru was 5-6.

starlover · 21/07/2005 16:45

hub2dee... we're in cloth and i think most we really ever used was about 8 per day. but it's always useful to have spares! lol
i had 12 shaped nappies, and 12 terry squares (for emergencies!)

now we probabyl use about 6 a day (ds is 5.5 months)

hub2dee · 22/07/2005 20:21

Thanks starlover.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 22/07/2005 20:23

4 usually depending on bowel movements!!!

one in morning

one at lunch

one after bath

(usually a good 2-3 hour gap here at the moment!)

one for bed

bee3 · 22/07/2005 20:25

3-4 during the day (depending on poos) and 1 overnight (ds 17 months).

PeachyClair · 22/07/2005 21:10

At that age about 3 disposables, 4 when using washables (most of the time)

Use 2 day, one night now, disposables because he finds the others tooe asy to remove sadly

flowerfairy · 22/07/2005 21:14

Now (ds16mths)3-4 in the day, depends on poos and if we're out and about and 1 overnight.

When ds started using cloth about 12 weeks or so we probably got through 6-8.

mumfor1sttime · 22/07/2005 21:28

My ds is 6.5 months, we go through roughly 3-4 a day of mother ease washable nappies and one disposable at night time!

madmarchhare · 22/07/2005 21:30

DS 20mos and use about 5. He's very pooey.
