Farsi!

Has anybody learnt it and if so, how? My Dad is Iranian but won't teach me the language, I have the Pimsluer discs and am trying to learn from those but would like more ideas? I only want to learn it transliterated so I won't need to learn the font or anything

I haven't but isn't there a BBC farsi service? You may be able to download podcasts of certain broadcasts so you can at least get used to the sound.

Oo, brilliant idea I know there's a farsi hour on the Asian BBC Radio which you just reminded me of so I'll loko there too
