Thinking about night nappies -any recommendations?

I am finally (after 10months ) getting into the swing of using resuables (bumgenius) almost exclusively during the day. Flushable liners have been my saviour

I am now considering swapping to reusables at night but wondered about which ones to go for and how many I'd need (assuming bumgenius's won't be absorbent enough)

DD is small for her age but has got quite a belly on her and nice chubby thighs. I tend to change her bg roughly every 2-3 hours but that is mainly because she poos so often! I wash the nappies every other day.

She is also at a super wriggly stage so even trying to get a disposable on is hard enough so can't use anything too fiddly.

These came out just as I was going to give up with reusable over night I am sure you can by them singly www.mothercare.com/Tots-Bots-Bamboozle-day-pack/dp/B000MQZQ9M/sr=1-71/qid=1269095383/ref=sr_1 71/279-1289057-4337814?encoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=44532031&mcb=core It that didn't work Tots bots bamboozle

I do actually have some bamboozles but haven't used them since DD was tiny.

Don't they leave them feeling quite wet? I like the stay dry aspect of the bgs and disps.

Hello

Use a fleece liner in your bamboozles to keep the bottom area dry and would suggest pumpkin pants fleece soakers or longies over the top - they are ace. There are 3 main sellers of them - JabulaBaby, Babybots and Bespoke Baby Room. Def worth a go - I didn't use fleece for years but am now completely converted.

Do you use the soaker/longies instead of a wrap then? Does the fleece wick onto their pjs?

Hiya,

Yes you use the fleece instead of a wrap, and if you use longies you wouldnt need PJ bottoms.

Ive just used longies for the first time last night with a Little Lamb Micro Fibre nappy and have had great results, didnt even need to boost it on my 16 months old and no leaks at all!

Very pleased to be using breathable fleece on my sons bum hes not red and sore after 12 hours in PUL!

If however you want to use something else i would suggest you do stick with a nappy and a wrap comb for nights. just boost the nappy and use a good wrap id reccomend nature babies wraps.

If i can help drop me an email

I think im the only one who loves bumgenius for night time! DD is 3 in a few weeks and she wears these on a night as she is dry through day, sometimes she gets in bed with us in the morning so shes easily in them a good 12 hours and we never had a leak! Id say she was a medium wetter too. We have tried tots bots and coolababy (absolute rubbish) and both leaked or left her wet. Ill be def continuing to use bumgenius for next baby whos due in May.

Perhaps i should give them a try then. I just find them a little 'stiff' compared to disposables and I'd worry that they wouldn't be very comfy for all night.

I love ellas house bumhuggers, here. They are like a pocket nappy, there's a hemp piece that sits inside and I add another ellas house insertone of these in small to the pocket too. They come in aplix or poppers.

wellbalanced · 21/03/2010 20:33

I use any of my nappies boosted, Close pop in with dri nite booster, BG with extra boosters in pocket and under fleece liner, Weenotions -same way as BG, Tots bots boosted then nature babies wrap.... etc

mrsjuan · 21/03/2010 20:38

So do you think I could just use a bg with 2 of the normal inserts? During the day I either just use 1 or 1 normal plus the smaller one.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I am so pleased with how it's been going through the day (finally ) so fairly confident that I can have a go at night too.
