how old was your DC when you ditched your baby monitor?

just curious - most people with children older than DD (14 mo) still seem to use them; we do, but wonder why, really? (smallish house, goodish sleeper)

that's radical Pointy, but in a scale of things that irrationally piss you off about other parents, surely a monitor has to come pretty low on the scale?
I am far more annoyed about 4 year olds in nappies or pushchairs (delete as applicable) - SN excepted. Although I fully concede it's none of my darn business.
But baby monitors?

I haven't read the thread, cat. Yes, I would not bother myself to get angry about who uses a monitor and for how long.
