What do you do?

We alternate lie ins at the weekend, proper ones so until 10am sometimes (tho I start feeling guilty after 8:30.....)

Also planning to take the occasional half day off work at the same time as DH so we can have the odd daytime date.

What else do people do? I miss time spent lazing about reading a magazine (ha) or aimlessly watching TV.....

I used to sneak in coffee with dh before picking kids up form nursery- I still do sometimes even though they are older.

How old are your dc? Do they need constatnt supervision that you cannot read a magazine? I remember feeling I couldn't do this when they were very young but if they are a bit older and are playing themselves, don't feel you have to be with them every second. Don't feel guilty about setting up an activity for them and then you sitting in a corner drinking tea and reading magazines.

If one of you is responsible for putting them to bed, mak sure the other person uses that time to watch TV, read a book, phone a friend instead of tidy toys, load dishwasher etc.

Basically, take the chance when you can.

We sometimes go to "bed" straight after the DCs are asleep, then have dinner/TV afterwards. Ensure you are not to tired for sex later.

I MN while DH is putting kids to bed.. on the odd night that he's here to do it.

I love Jamie's idea of sex before dinner.. might suggest that tonight..

My parents don't live in this country and my ILs don't really do babysitting for us but sometimes we've left the kids with them for an hour or two just to go for a walk (hand in hand, no buggies..) On Saturday we did a quick run to IKEA.. You have to take what you can get..
