My 8 month old DD has started to completely refuse her last feed at 7pm. she goes to sleep after some moaning and then wakes once at night. I am trying to wean her off the breast too.. but just chews on the bottle and won't take milk from a cup. So, I guess this is a double wammy... any tips on sleeping through and weaning from breast to formula milk?

It's so tough isn't it. You feel like you'll never get them to do whatever should come next.

I thought I had motherhood cracked then I had my second!

Have you tried keeping her evening meal to a minimum? No snacks in the afternoon either. I think you'd have a better chance if she was hungry for her milk. Make sure her solids are no later then 5 too.

If you have done all of the above already then im stumped there too.

The waking in the night - Does she have problems settling herself then?

Has she always been fed if she wakes or cuddled back to sleep? If so then it's a habbit of expecting someone/something else to settle her. I doubt if an 8 month old on 3 meals a day, even if she misses her milk is hungry.

I was so smug with DS. I never fed him, rocked him to sleep. I gave him a bottle of expressed milk from early on so there would be no transition problems. I thought it was because I was supremley clever!!
Nooooo
DD has proven it's because he let me - he was easy. DD is fed, cuddled, and white noised to sleep at all times. Even getting her to take a bottle from early on has been a battle. It's all trial an error and some have been sent to trial us a little more!
