Moving to a big bath!

My daughter is 9.5 months old and 10KG. She barely fits her plastic baby bath, even when sitting up (long legs!).

I'm thinking of moving her to the "big" bath. However, she has a habit of throwing herself backwards to lie down, and am worried about her hitting her head.

Apart from a non-slip mat for her to sit on, is there anything I can use to make the transition easier?

David.

i tend to just lean over the side of the bath, and keep an arm there just in case.

You can buy bath seats or bath mats with integrated seats but not sure if they are suitable for this age. I moved both my dds to the big bath when they were about 4-5 months old.

the seats are good we used ours from 6 months. they have suction pads on the bottom so they cant topple over.

We've got an Aqua Pod for DS. We've had it since he was not-quite 6 months old, and he's still using it at 11 months/11kg.

DS never went in a baby bath! We got one of those huge shaped sponges with a cut-out for the baby to lie in (Mothercare etc.) and until he was strong enough to sit up on his own, he would lie down and splash in the big bath. In fact, now I remember, we kept it for the first 6 weeks or so that he was sitting, as well, until he learnt to crawl out of it.
