Don't want to buy books for uni!

I have an assignment due end of next week and don't have one book on the topic. All the books are out of the uni library (all the other students have taken them )

Could buy a couple off amazon, but time they get to me etc. essay will be due. I also grudge buying books as I know I will never use them again and they will just clutter up my room.

Does anyone know of any sites that I might be able to sneak a look at the books on. I have tried google books but no previews of the books I need.

Having no books on the subject is allowing me time to procrasternate (sp), wash, sweep up, mnetting, anything but doing the bloody essay.

Does anyone know of any sites I could use?

Thanks.

mildmannered-thanks for asking.

Collaborative Social Work Practice by A. Quinney.

Ethics, Accountability and the Social Professions. by S. Banks.

My assignment is on interprofessional/multi-agency working.

I have requested them from the library but noone has handed any in yet!!

Just tried google scholar but no joy.

Quinney - this book has a "search inside" option, so it might be possible to get what you need with some canny searching inside the book.

You can download a sample chapter of the Banks book from here, which may or may not be helpful?

Molesworth - thanks for taking the time to look for my books and post. That was so kind of you.

Don't think this will allow me to glance read enough of the book to do the essay. Thanks anyhow. Will now look at all of them for sale on amazon to see if I can get further pages.

I am so tight and mean. I am in the middle of decluttering and it is driving me nuts. Cant bear the thought of bringing more into the house.

has you uni got an e library system so you could try to use them on-line

As a former bookseller, I can tell you that if you've got a largeish book shop near you with these in stock the staff won't give a damn if you do some lurking and reading/making notes in the shop. Just don't write on the books/fold back the pages/break the spines (you would think this would go without saying, but you would be wrong).

Thanks again everyone.

Have always had probs trying to log into athens and ejournals etc. but will go into library tomorrow and ask for help.

Will remember the advice in future about just looking at the book in book shop
