Hi - its my first post on here. I have 3 DDs 11,9 and 7 mnths. Am on materntiy leave and feeling really lonely, then feeling guilty as know I should be enjoying DD3 baby days

I try to go out and do things but it feels like people are not that friendly. Or is it all in my head

Any advice?

Hi, didn't want to leave your message unanswered. Its really hard being at home on mat leave sometimes esp when its for the 1st time or like you after a longish break. Also I really think the weather doesn't help improve the mood!! Can you try some baby groups? I used to go for coffee even by myself (with dd obv tho!) as just getting out of the house and being around people used to perk me up a bit. People aren't usually unfriendly esp a baby groups but you might need to jump into things a bit iykwim..

Thanks so much for replying Feel a bit stupid as this is third time round for me but all my friends are now working and I know I have to start over again - feels like I'm a teenager again wanting boys to like me.

Hi Katy,
You must be exhausted! Feeling down is a real viscious circle that seems almost impossible to break, you know to feel better you need to do things but you just haven't got the energy or the inclination!
As whitey said, you're bound to make a new group of friends when this one comes along or beforehand at NCT meetings etc.
Hope you feel better soon!
Sarah
