Car seat question

What age can my ds just sit on a booster seat without the back bit. He looks really uncomfy with the back bit on now.

He does sit on a booster cushion occasionally but that's only when I'm ferrying other kids around.

He is 6 and average height for a 6 year old.

You need to measure his height

Well, by law any child over 15kg can simply sit on a booster cushion with no back.

In terms of safety though the 2 things you need to consider are whether the back bit has side impact protection - if you take it off obviously he'll lose that, and where the seatbelt sits without the guides on the back bit - it needs to be across his chest and over his lap rather than across his neck and tummy.

What is it about the back bit that's making him look uncomfy? You can get some decent high back boosters with adjustable headrests and wings - would buying one of these help? I think it's what I'd go for personally.
