best summer nappy

odd post for a grey rainy day like this I know
but what are the best nappies for those really hot summer days?

this is my little collection to give you an idea of the sort of nappies I like:

itti bitti snap in ones
tots bots easy fits
blueberry minky
cushie tushie (cute but not my fav from a practical point of view)
coolababy and ebay cheapies
home made fleece pocket nappies
and a tots bots stretchy on the way

I am not a fan or one-lifes or pop n gros. My favs at the mo are the easy fits and the ittis
I am getting on very well with coolababys and ebay equivalents but imagine they would be very plasticey and sticky on very hot days

I have also discovered that I am very vain when it comes to nappies - I like em as cute as poss!

So for those of you who've been through a summer in cloth, which ones made your LO sweaty and uncomfortable and which would you recommend?

also, what's best for very hot nights?

Bizarrely a fleece wrap over any nappy would probably be best for hot summer nights as everything evaporates. If your baby didn't wee then any of these nappies would be hot and sweaty on your baby, but as baby's wee all the time, there is always evaporation and therefore a cooling effect.

Or something with a Motherease Airflow or a Onelife or Lollipop popper wrap over the top,as they are looser fitting and again let the air circulate. I know you don't like Onelife, but it might be worth keeping some to see how you like them in the summer.

was thinking that would prob be the case! have a tots bots stretchy on the way to try so if I like it maybe that plus home made fleece will be my hot summer option

Or better still wool shorties or skirties. Wool is warm in winter and cool in summer - even cooler than fleece

wool shorties sound good (and cute!)
dunno if my DS would suit the skirties though!

are wool shorties a pain to wash and dry though?

Fleece is easier to care for.

I reckon a nice fitted with fleece or wool soaker and tshirt/vest is best.

Wool does need hand washing, but you don't need to wash it very often, as wool is self cleaning, and doesn't absorb smells readily. It sounds gross, but it's true! Just hang to air and re-use, and wash only when dirty of every couple of weeks or so. It's absolutely amazing stuff for nappy covers, as it allows evaporation, which is cooling, and the nappy actually dries underneath the wool!

And absolutely cute!!!

This is my latest!
