what is about right to pay a teenage babysitter (one toddler, will be fast asleep throughout) outside london? we've just moved house - we used to swap babysiting favours with other mums but dont know anybody well enough for that here.

£5 per hour for two children, she is a qualified childcare worker though.

Sorry, have 3 girls but not had a babysitter since DD3 born.... I need a night out but don't think I would stay awake long enough!

We give £5 an hour for our next door neighbours son when he babysits for us, used to be £4 an hour but it felt a bit mean.

i charge between £6 - £7 an hour, i am however fully qualified, and have had many years experience working in childcare, and often babysit children who are awake, who i fed bath and put to bed.
I live in herts, 40 mins outside of london ish? I'm rather cheap, compared to some of my friends

Golly, we pay the teenager round the corner £3.50 per hour and then round up it up a bit. DD is 10.5 so no trouble and puts herself to bed. Teenager always seems thrilled by the amount.

We is out in the sticks though.
