Does anyone know if/where I can find size 2 walking shoes for my 16 month old?she has small feet but is getting very good at walking and would really like some proper shoes for her.I have looked everywhere but nowhere seems to sell proper shoes smaller than a size 3.Starting to wonder if my only option is for her to wear crawling shoes til her feet grow a bit but I took her out in some the other day and now they are ruined.

Hi,
first time poster here, but I feel your frustration!
My dd was a size 2 1/2 when she had her first pair of shoes. Startrite are your best option, look on yellow pages and ring shoe shops before you travel to ask if they do small sizes. I travel 45 minutes for my dd's shoes! BUT they shop we found (in barcombe in sussex, if thats anywhere near you) are really great, and she has had some gorgeous shoes. I am however looking forward to her growing a bit, as it is more pricey than clarks.

hope you get it sorted!

I can second Startrite but you do need to check they have the smaller sizes first as a lot of shops don't stock them. The shop we often use said they could order them in for us. Also continental styles come in smaller sizes. More likely to be found in independent shops from experience. Best bet is to ring round as most shops won't be able to help. I decided to boycot Clarks after the snotty woman there told me my dd's feet can't have been measured properly.

start rite start at size 2 -

if you email start rite they will tell you which shops near you stock them... I had to do this for my DD who had "H" width fititng at one point so was hard to fit.

I got mothercare sandals for my DD who also had teeny tiny feet. They were proper shoes but obviously I had to overcome my 'clarks only' obsession. As soon as she was a 3 she went into Clarks

We just went outside with crawling shoes for DS1 till he grew into size 3s and frankly all his shoes are always completely wrecked within seconds of leaving the shop anyway! Actually, even growing into the size 2s was quite a milestone as he was a size 1 when he was first walking. Fortunately DS2 seems to be built on bigger lines!
