No probs with DS sucking his thumb if he wants, it's just that he never has before.

Is this normal ? He has been sleeping badly recently and a bit unsettled but this seemed a bit unusual to me ?

my dd took it up at two and still does it at six - only in bed/when tired. She seems to need some sort of comfort thing - blanky, thumb, etc when she has nothing else she sucks her hair now. You know what, if I could wind the clock back I might have tried to nip it in the bud with stop n grow but on the other hand maybe she would have started another habit...who knows. I think she must have copied the thumb sucking originally. She went a week or two recently without doing it, but then started again

my dd1 started this too just after her 3rd birthday. dd2 had been born a couple of months before though so I think that probably had something to do with it.

6 months down the line and she is still constantly thumb sucking. everyone i've asked about it has told me to ignore it (easier said than done!)
