Coolababy nappies - do you like them?

I'm going to be adding to my stash of pocket nappies soon and have seen the Coolababy nappy for cheapness and I'm quite tempted.

Has anyone used one? Are they any good or are they likely to fall apart after a few washes?

They are £5.50 each on BabyBots and it seems too good to be true...

Yes - I like them - have had mine for about 5 months and works great. Doesn't like being washed at 60 degs though from what I can gather. Good fit though and total bargain.

mumface · 02/02/2010 14:01

Not too good to be true, they are a great budget buy. Never had any problems with mine.

Mumgenius · 02/02/2010 14:21

Excellent, I might go and buy some then, or buy one and try it out maybe.

Octo When you say they don't like 60deg, how to you mean? Do they melt or shrink or something?? I do tend to wash mine on 40deg anyway, but sometimes after a bad poop incident I whizz mine through on 60, so would have to remember not too I guess.

Mine are genuinely still great after more that 6 months of use. However i'm biased and i'm sure some of the others will be able to tell you more.

But have a look here this is what some other users say.

Enjoy.

Babybots · 02/02/2010 17:03

Mumgenius The washing instructions do state 40 deg but I've washed mine on 60 wash a fair few times and they haven't melted yet.

It's mainly the fleece covered ones that the hotter temperature causes a problem, they start to de-laminate after loads of repeated 60 degree washes.

Follow the washing instructions and they are fine. The inserts are fine at both temperatures though.

Thanks Babybots, I'm eyeing up the red one so you might have an order come through soon!

Mumgenius · 03/02/2010 13:50

I've ordered the red one and I'm very excited... in fact I think its a sign I need to get out more because I am really too excited!

Babybots My nappy has arrived and DD is wearing it right now, it fits really well. If it contains wee and poop well then it really will be brilliant value for money. Thanks!

Mumgenius Glad you like it! Hope it works well for you.

janeelibaless · 08/02/2010 00:02

I love them! We have 12 of them and they're my first choice nappy, especially for when we're out. I wash them at 60 and haven't noticed any problems. However, I need to start boosting them a little bit more, especially for use in the nursery.. can anyone suggest where to buy bamboo boosters that are the right size? Thanks!

Babybots · 08/02/2010 09:23

Little lamb Bamboo boosters are great, i'm still using size one boosters with my 14 month old as they are slim and fit in easily.

I love mine and got them from Babybots!
I am a cloth addict and love itti-bittis and custom made Weenotions and the like but ds4 goes to nursery and I have had ishoos with nappies disappearing including a bambinex nappy along with a new Motherease Wrap! They were obviously binned with some dispies but nursery denied all knowledge. The coolababy are nice and cheap so at least I can relax a bit more with them and IMO they have so far been better than bumgenius which are 3 times the price and the elastic and applix go after a few months. I love the fact that they have poppers instead of applix. I usually wash at 60 and all of mine have been fine so far.

Babybots · 09/02/2010 09:30

Hi Chipmonkey nice to hear so many glowing reports, I'm pleased!

Mumgenius · 22/02/2010 20:11

Just updating the thread for anyone who searches for Coolababy nappies in the future to say that I loved the one I bought as a trial so much I bought another ten from BabyBots.

The colours are nice and bright, they seem to wash very well and I haven't had a single leak so far! For about a fiver each these nappies are brilliant value.

peachybums · 25/02/2010 13:07

I ordered some but they havnt come yet seems to be taking ages, everytime i see postman i get excited lol but then nothing . My friend has tried some and said they were fab for her 23 mth old for thru day

JennyPenny22 · 26/02/2010 23:58

We use ours a lot and love them. And they seem fine at 60. Prefer them to the BG ones.

Babybots · 01/03/2010 09:17

peachybums were they ordered from us? If so, and they havent arrived yet, do email me and i'll track them for you.

salbysea · 14/03/2010 19:06

they're my best all round nappy! never leaked, the inserts are REALLY quick drying but also v effective, I even bought extra coolababy inserts from babybots to use in my other pocket nappies. They are slim fitting and comfortable, what else? oh I like the poppers, hate scratchy aplix, so always send coolababies to nursery as there is no chance of a rushed on aplix nappy scratching his tum. fit well under clothes, nursery nurses love them, cute colors, wash well

big thumbs up!

Babybots · 16/03/2010 08:16

New colours are fab too

joymaker · 29/08/2010 00:16

what is the coolababy outer made from? How does it compare to the outer of BG is it more plasticy?

mumface · 29/08/2010 08:27

Don't know what it's made of, but feels like the same sort of fabric as BG to me. It's soft not plasticy at all.

joymaker · 30/08/2010 21:22

thanks mumface I think i might try one too Smile
