I was really excited to find this forum - I wonder if you could help me.
I'm 10 weeks pregnant and in the middle of my PhD for which I have AHRC funding. I'm really confused as to whether we're entitled to any of the same financial assistance for childcare that other student parents are (my situation is atypical - my husband is also doing a PhD so we can't get tax credits etc...)? Have any of you been given discretionary funding by your Universities? I know that the Access to Learning fund can theoretically be used for this purpose but I'm not sure with what degree of success!
