Immediately after school, DS-10yo lately walks with his friends either to their parents' car or sometimes to their house.
They usually pass the corner shop and DS always wants to buy sweets (which he claims his friends ALWAYS stop and do). But I don't want him to buy sweets 3-5 days/week after school -- not yet. I'll give up on the control freakery matter when he starts High School and let him just blow his pocket money on sweets as he sees fit, but for now I want to keep his sweet consumption down.
DS of course is protesting mightily.. he wants 50p/week for sweets, whilst I'd like to keep it to just 10p twice a week.
What do other people do around this age? What do you think is reasonable? TIA.
