Ds is only 2mo but already 6kg and 60cm long so I'm starting to think about the next size up nappies, so I can keep an eye on anything that comes up secondhand.

To start with I got a small selection to see what I liked.

ATM we've got (all size one obviously):
10 sandies - like
4 cotton tots bots - don't like, because they seem not very absorbant compared to sandies, also are like sandpaper when dry, but that's probably because they're old and I only line dry).
15 bamboozles - my favourites.

4 totsbots wraps - some have leg gusset, some don't, I find them rather hard to get a good fit.
3 Motherease Rikki wraps - I like
1 totsbots fleece wrap - great for nighttime, but really bulky.

Obviously ds is not mobile atm. Will the same nappies suit him later on as he starts to crawl and walk?
Is there anything else I should consider as he gets older?
Should I just stick with my favourite combo of bamboozle + rikki?
Is the totsbots fleece wrap good compared to others, or would you recommend another brand?

Any advice would be great. Thanks a lot.

Hiya,

To be honest the next size up is the time that most people change track and try different nappy types! You have a great selection of size ones that are a great choice for newborns and and they will be great and do the job well.

However like you say... Will they still be great once little one is mobile?

For night times as he grows i'd stick with the nappy/ wrap combo but for days you need to think about is you will want some thing that will allow for a quick nappy change with a baby thinking its funny to run away from mummy!

In my experience many mums now change to either a pocket or an all in one nappy at this stage. They go on in one fail swoop (in theory) are quick drying and you can get one sized ones to fit until potty training.

Have a look at BumGenius, Itti Bittis, Coolababy, Fuzzi Bunz, little lamb do a pocket... i could go on and on with lists to look at really.

As for fleece, you could try fleece soakers like bebesnuggles or pumpkin pants both great brands. Other very good wraps cheaper than motherease are Nature babies classic or the new one size wrap.

Hth!

I agree with babybots - could get some core nappies and then a few different ones!
