He everyone. I am seeking advice. Both DH and I work full time and have one DS. Ever since birth - 6 years ago, I have struggled to manage my busy stimulating job against the mundane chores of house work. To the extent where I never seem to find time to clear out old toys and the house seems perpetually in a real state. I have suggested we get a cleaner, DH doesn't like the idea, he does do housework (vaccing, dusting, tidying and cooking-avoiding cleaning the oven or toilet!). How do other mums cope and do you have any hot tips to help? thank you

House is a tip, and stays a tip. Although I do have a cleaner once a week, couldn't manage without it. I cook for 2 days worth of meals, do alot of freezing, rarely dust, only keep kitchen really clean. Only do what you can manage, and try and get your son involved somehow....Good luck

I would recommend getting a cleaner, we have one only once a fortnight but it does mean that come the weekend and I have some time I will do other jobs (cupboards/fridge/cooker) etc instead of the regular ones. Also, and this might seem a bit mad, I take some annual leave, just a couple of times a year and do a massive load of jobs, you will be amazed how much you can get done in a day when left to it.
