ds keeps telling people he wants to kill them

He's four. He does it to us, but also strangers when he's feeling selfconscious, etc. 'I'm going to kill you and put you in the dustbin', or other equally rude things. I'm sure it's perfectly normal but how can I stop him? DOn 't mind ignoring it if it's just us, but don't feel I can with outsiders. And it's usually out of the house so I can't send him out of the room or whatever. Any suggestions?
