Leaks when dd is carried...

DD is nearly 3 months and wears a combination of disposables for being out and about, and resusables at other times.

When she does go out with a reusable, I've noticed that they leak when she's carried or in her Baby Bjorn. I think it's because the wrap comes adrift from the inner.

Is there any way to stop this? She wears Little Lambs, BumGenius AIOs and V3s, and Bambino Mios.

It may be her weight in that area when she is in the wrap - wouldn't use a bambino mio at all in one - BG would be better with two inserts.

It does at least deter her grandfather from parading her around Brent Cross on his shoulder.

We found that this used to happen, and then, mysteriously, stopped happening . I guess it's to do with their body shape at any given time (i.e. how much room there is for gaping due to difference in chubbiness/thigh chubbiness relative to waist chubbiness etc). I would suggest using disposables exclusively for outings for a few weeks, then going back to reusables perhaps, making sure that you're using your most robust reusable and wrap, done up suitably tightly.

I would also recommend a motherease rikki wrap for slim babies and air flow for chubbier babies - very reliable over any nappy.

I would actually disagree with octo for once (sorry octo, not saying you are wrong, just another point to consider!). I personally wouldn't use microfibre (ie bumgenious) in a sling because although it is absorbant, it can squish out the wee if it gets too much compression - like in a sling.

IS it all of the nappies you are having the problem with?

I do also agree with Octo on her other point though, Motherease wraps are fab.

lol jenny I didn't mean in the wrap I meant in general that anything is better than BM!

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 18/01/2010 22:48

I didn't think you meant the wrap! lol. I was talking about the nappied too!

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 18/01/2010 22:49

nappies even, not nappied! lol.

What I mean is that cotton i less likely to compress liquid out when squashed. So if BM are OK the rest of the time, I would think they are oK in the sling.

Where as MF in the BG could squish liquid out.

Does that make sence?
