a lady from dds nursery has offered to pick up my dd tomorrow on foot with her 4yr old twins and take her to nursery which is a short walk from my house....as i have just had a baby i am finding it takes hours just to get us all ready to get out so the idea of a lazy morning is lovely. The mum has said she will collect her too and back to hers for lunch.i will then go and collect my dd later on.My dd is 3.5

I am worrying because the mum will have to cross a busy road with 3 young kids.....i think im worried that my dd will be holding hands with one of her dcs rather than her iyswim

do you think im worrying too much about this?

also,is my dd too young to go to someones house for lunch?i have known this woman since august and i had her dcs overnight for new years so its not like shes a stranger but its not like i know her particuarly well either.

am i being neurotic or do you think i have reason to be a bit apprehensive?

I think you are worrying over nothing tbh. I have 3 dc's and we manage to cross roads safely.

No child is ever too young to start socialising with others out of nursery/pre-school but it all boils down to how much you trust someone whether you will allow your child to go with them unaccompanied.

In this instance you seem to know this lady pretty well and I assume she is capable of looking after 1 additional child.

Your dd will have a fab time and I'm sure all will be fine.

If you have any doubts about the mums capabilities that is another matter altogether.

Why don't you miss out the lunch bit and either get your friend to drop dd at home for lunch with you and collect her after to take back to nursery

or

will you be ready enough by lunchtime to collect her for lunch yourself and take her back and get your friend to bring her back at home time
