Hi

Some of the books suggest just wiping it round with a clean piece of gauze. My DD got a tooth at 12 weeks and I just used a soft baby toothbrush, intially without toothpaste I think but then once she had a couple I used toothpaste. I think it is as much about forming habits as really needing to brush them at 4 months, as still on a milk only diet.

Our DS got his first teeth at 4mths too! We started out with a very thin smear of baby toothpaste and a fingertip toothbrush that fits onto your finger and you can stick it in his mouth and have a little clean.

Thanks. I found a chewable toothbrush (brushbaby) that someone had given us at a baby shower. She's spent the last ten minutes gnawing on it happily.
