Wetting through large Itti Bitti D'Lishes in an hour

DS (just 2) can wee through a large Itti Bitti D'Lish nappy in just an hour - so much so that it wets through his trousers and I have to change both nappy and trousers. I don't know whether the nappy has gone wrong or that he's just bigger now so he can wee a lot more and it's just too much for the nappy. I find myself just putting him in disposables as I'm doing too much washing, which I hate doing as it's a waste of money. Help!

No answers, I'm afraid, MrsJ but I seem to remember complaining similarly about a year ago when my DS2 was two and I had just discovered Ittis. It was you who convinced me that they were serious nappies, fit for purpose and not just adorable wee posing pouches. He potty trained around that time so I never really had to test them to hard on him. But DS3 who is now almost one has benefitted as he has a lovely Itti stash thanks to you.

The only thing I can think of is that there was a batch of rogue Itti's that the laminate came away inside. Is it a bit crinkly/scrunchy feeling? I had a couple like that. Other than that maybe use two trifold inserts at once. I still have my smalls and sometimes stick an extra one in my 2 year olds larges.

MrsJamin is a veritable Itti veteran, mumface, so it is unlikely to be rogue Ittis.

Maybe stick some wool or fleece over Itti then to save trousers?

Dunno - my 15mo ds wets through large Ittis very fast compared to all his other nappies. Even with the wee red insert there just isn't much absorbent stuff there. I tend to use my 2 Ittis in morning and after naptime so less soggy. Also he's a 'high rise' baby and the Ittis are rather low-cut.

Currently considering what to get as my ancient Bumbles have lost the fluff where the nippa goes at his size (they were fantastic up to 1 year) - the Blueberry stuffed with a couple Bumble inserts seems to work well but they're expensive.

We had this problem with dd3 just before she pt'd as she was doing gusher wee's rather than dribble wee's also body suit vests with the snaps underneath made the wee wick from around the leg holes and make her soaking wet. Once we started putting tights under the. Vest before snapping it up the leaks ceased. HTH a bit

I rather like being called a veteran Itti Bitti fan! Have been using them exclusively on DS since 3 MO. I did wonder whether his weeing frequency had changed, like he does a gush that the nappies can't cope with all at once. Perhaps this signals the start of PTing?! I might try putting another trifold insert in, but I was worried the bulk would be too much and cause wicking in another way. They are a little scrunchy, but I've been really careful not to let them dry too near direct heat, etc, so that shouldn't affect them that much? I might contact Miranda at Twinkle to see if she has any ideas. I don't really want to buy any more nappies as they all should see us through to PTing.

Swampster - it feels funny that you remember me- I'm happy that you have an Itti Bitti D'Lish stash! They are great nappies overall.

Mrs J I'd suggest have a go at PT, sounds like a big all in one go wee!
