What time is bedtime?

Hi Mum's,

I am one of thoes horrible smug mothers who used a bedtime routine and my two year old is asleep by 7:10 every night and wakes once for less than 5 mins each night.

Over the holidays however he has been sleeping right through to 8:30 -9am.

The problem now though is that we are back at work now and I need to leave the house at 6:45 at the very latest to get to nursery in time for work. We don't get home until 5:30 most nights and he gets his bath at 6:30.

Thing is, he is so tired this week and actually looks ill, he is waking four or five times a night and can't seem to stay awake past 6:30.

Do I have my bedtime wrong? I just really want sometime with him in the evenings, I miss him so much when I'm at work.

Can he sleep at nursery? Maybe they could offer him the chance to have a second nap during the day?

Do you think there's any chance he could be anemic?

Hi,

He gets and hour and a half at nursery.

I never thought about aneimia. i just thought all toddlers needed 11-12 hours sleep a night and i wasn't giving him the chance to get it.

So do you think 7pm is ok bedtime if he's up at 6?

Mmmm. Earlier might well be better, but TBH I really don't see how you could manage it.

everyone needs a different amount of sleep, maybe your DS just needs more than average?

Thanks,

I think I will stick to what i am doing, let him have as much sleep as he wants this weekend and see if i can get him checked over at the doc's.

like I said I had never considered anemia, but now that you mentioned it, it would make sense!

Peas and spinich for tea tonight!:0
