can't remember but do remember wind makes them look like they're smiling quite early on!

My twins were 3 weeks early and we had first smiles at 6 weeks.

Enjoy the gummy grins - they're now 16 weeks and it just gets better and better

About 2.5 weeks I could see him smiling in his eyes. I don't know when he smiled with his mouth as well (ie not just wind!) but probably about 6-8 weeks I think.

He didn't laugh until 6 months though! It used to upset me reading about everyone else's tiny giggling babies

dd - 6 weeks and then we got one occasionally. Didn;t laugh for ages too, Bertie, though wasn't a serious baby particularly.

ds on the other hand - 6 weeks or so, and then non-stop giggling and smiling.

Congrats on your smile this morning - enjoy contorting yourself into strange positions to get more of them!

DS smiled at 4.5 weeks, i remember because DH told me about it and i was annoyed he'd caught the first smile

We did learn to distinguish smiles/wind/pooing very quickly after that!
