BumGenius 3.0 suddenly leaking

Howdy all and Happy New Year!

My DS (9 months) has been in the BGs since around 6 months without any problems, but in the last week or so they've suddenly started leaking. A nappy boosted with the small insert plus the standard will last 2 hours at most, and without the booster much less. I've given them all an extra wash with no detergent in case it's due to a build up. I've also got some bamboo boosters on the way to try. Any other suggestions as to why they're suddenly less effective? Could it be that they need adjusting to the next size up, i.e. unpop the poppers on the front? But this will mean there is no further size adjustment left, and they're supposed to last until he's out of nappies! Any advice or suggestions appreciated.

If you have already strip washed then would def try releasing a row of poppers. Some babies do go up to the last row at that age as they get chunky before they start moving, then slim back down again. Bamboo good idea.

My DS3 went up to unpoppered at around seven months, I think, then back down to middle popper setting and at around nine/ten months back up to unpoppered - they keep changing shape!

BGs were fine on DS2 until he was out of nappies at two-and-a-halfish.

I use the big microfibre insert with a bamboo or hemp booster under it, or the little microfibre insert with a bamboo insert like a P'tits Dessous.

At the moment I'm finding BGs the most reliable if least pretty of my pockets.

Make sure you've got your extra boosting to the front of the pocket for a boy.

My dd's BG started leaking when she was around a year old. Aside from going onto the top line of poppers, it might be that he's doing bigger wees! I started using a hemp insert in addition to the BG ones and that continues to solve the problem as she heads towards being 3.
