What do you do with your toddlers that gets them up and moving to music? I feel like I do ok when it comes to giving opportunities to do painting/drawing etc, but am not at home with him every day and the days I am there aren't any sing/music/dance activities scheduled that we can attend (I've looked everywhere). I don't mind switching on the tv if there's a good programme we can fling ourselves around to - or cd? or dvd ideas? Or even a good radio station?

DS is about 20 months and has started to 'sing' with me and is asking for particular songs. I know two songs have a limited repertoire, so need some help here

I hesitate to recommend Boogie Beebies but it is quite good

personally I just out on a cd and dance round the kitchen - dd likes the Killers, Mika, Abba and the Bangles...

thanks MrsB, don't know boogie beebies but will search it out and have a look.
Good tip about putting an ordinary cd on.
I wonder does anyone know of any not too dreadful children's songs CD?

they are all dreadful ime, some worse than others, never hope too hard

the ELC 'activity songs' one is good for more structured stuff eg dingle dangle scarecrow, I'm a little teapot etc rather than random dancing

Now is the time to indoctrinate introduce them to your music

DO NOT get them into any of that just-for-kids music, it's just hideous

DD1 is now 6 and is getting into all that girly pop stuff but will still dance around to the stuff we play too, and will even request it from time to time
