My 16 month old usually has a nap between 30 mins to 1 hour about 2pm (if I'm lucky). She won't go in her cot though, so I don't exactly get a break because I'm being a baby-prop.

She's always slept really well at night though - almost always does 6.30pm or 7pm bedtime (followed by some chatting to herself and flapping about in her cot) until 8am ish (not up yet today). If she has to be up earlier in the morning it's actually quite hard to get her up. I usually get up at 6am (or 5.30am on a Monday) to get some "me" time.

DS is only 16 months (just under, actually), but not sleeping nearly as well as most on here!

He sleeps reasonably well from about 7pm-5:30am, then he might get up, might get up then snooze in the pram for a bit.

He usually then has a longish (60 mins approx) morning nap (shorter if he's slept till a reasonable hour in the morning), then a shortish afternoon nap (30-45 mins). It's hugely annoying as I feel he'd have a decent lunch time nap if he was sleeping long enough at night, but I just can't keep him up when he's started his day at 6am!

We battled with GF for months when he was little, and eventually came to the conclusion that some babies just have different sleep rhythms. And I really really tried! I wanted that long nap!

My DS is 17 months and he has just started dropping his morning nap but still goes down for 2 hours approx late afternoon and sleeps through the night from about 9pm/10pm if he's had a really late nap until 8am when we drag him out of bed for nursery. We have been really lucky with him.
