hurry...sure start grant??and ctc?

hi, ive applied 4the sure start grant about 2weeks ago and heard nothing, have tried desperately to find a number including phonin the job centre but noone seems to have the number to ring?im in a bit of a hurry because my baby will be 12 weeks on sat so ive got this week 2sort it out then it'l be too late!
also have been awarded child tax credits of £25 per week (which is fab) only the woman on the phone said we were entitled to £65 per week!thats a bit of a difference.is it worth appealing?can i appeal?seems im being greedy but if im entitled to it?
ive earned £5000 & dh has earned £18000.
any info would be greatly appreciated! :D x

You need the number for Social Fund. Your jobcentre can give you that and they are open tomorrow.

They are nearly always wrong (sorry)
Check out entitled to website but I think that figure is about right.

If a decision has already been made on the grant and it was declined because CTC wasnt in payment ask if you can have the decision revised in light of the new award or if you have to make a new claim again. Important to clarify now because of the tight timescale
