Anyone feel guilty about spending less time with DC2 than they did with DC1 at a similar age?

My DS2 is 5 months old and I've been keeping a scrapbook for him and his brother. When I was reading back on what DS1 was up to at around 4-5 months he seemed to be doing so much! I was taking him swimming (but he hasn't been for about a year now ), to baby massage classes, out for nice lunches, to a music group, out for walks every day etc.

Poor DS2 mainly spends his time in the house with me & DS1 with a walk when we can (DS1 hates the raincover so we tend to stay in when the weather is crap, ie most of the time), and gets dragged along to a music group DS1 still goes to. When DS1 isn't about I tend to try and whizz round to get housework done and I seem to have hardly any time just being with DS2. I want to do more with DS2 but it just seems hard when there are 2 DS's!!!

Is there anyone else like this? I feelso guilty!

Yes and I also feel guilty because I cant spend as much time doing activities as I did before dc2 was born. I have just accepted there are only 24 hrs a day. And at the moment dd 4mths does not really know and when she does I am sure I and you to will be able to find activities good for both ds and dd.

ah but he has a big bro to watch and adore... DS1 didn't have that, you had to fill the days...

Guilt is part of the mother's remit

Maybe I am just making myself feel better as am due twins any day and know they aren't going to have even 10% of what DS did through babyhood - but they will have a big bro, and he will have them...
