How big to use reusables?

My dd was only 6lb 10oz when born, she's 6 weeks old now and 8lb 11 oz but her reusable nappies still look huge on her. I've got motherease one size and a couple of tots bots size 1 (which say 10lb +). I wondered what size other peoples babies were when they started useing reusables. She's still only in size 1 pampers, but I want to use my lovely soft reusables soon, just would like to make sure they don't fall off her! What did you do?

hmm they all will look big on her to start with, because you'll be comparing them to the disposables!

give the tots bots a try and see how you go! it'll probably take a while to get used to her big bottom.

when DS was little i used terry squares because they're easier to get a nice compact fit!

with a wrap you can get a snug fit so the nappy wont look as 'loose' ( if they are indeed loose) I started using cloth on dd2 when she was about 9 pounds - the motherease ( which are still a bit big on the legs at 12 lbs but with the wrap they are ok, they don't leak) are fine and the tots ( I have size 1 too) fit perfectly now

I used cloth (started with prefolds and cotton bottoms wraps) from 3 days, I agree that they will always look big compared to disposibles, but you get used to it. The main thing is to make sure the wrap fits well.I love the big fairy bum look

Sorry, forgot to say ds was 8lb born.

I used cotton bottoms newborn on my ds, he was early and weighed 5lbs 8oz (teeny tiny bum), thank goodness we had that teeny size - still looked big, but not too bad.
