arroz con leche, me quiero casar con una senorita de .... etc etc

or there's "la vaca lechera"

sorry, I don't have a link for you but I know my children have listened to "arroz con leche" and other similar nursery rhymes on youtube so it should be easy to find.

Here are the words:

Arroz con leche
me quiero casar
con una señorita de
San Nicolás
que sepa tejer
que sepa bordar
que sepa abrir la puerta
para ir a jugar
yo soy la viudita
del puente del rey
que quiero
casarme y no encuentro
con quien
con esta si
con esta no
con esta señorita me caso yo

It's a nursery rhyme for very young children. I'm not an authority on Spanish nursery rhymes, I just have a dh from south America. He is appalling at remembering things from his childhood but this is the one song he does know. Hence, the whole family knows it.

Sari · 04/12/2009 13:51

Oh, it's sung in Spain too, not just south America.

TutTutter · 04/12/2009 15:42

Siete de Julio
San Fermin
A Pamplona hemos de ir
Con una media

A Pamplona hemos de ir

I learned that about 12 years ago and may have mispelled parts.

My DH sings 'une elephante' to our DD, I am not sure of the words but I am sure you could you tube it.

Cucu cantaba la rana - if you google you'll get the lyrics plus translation and a version.
