Spots from dummy ... how to treat?

hello

I have a very sucky colicy 9 week old who uses her dummy a lot when she is in pain. She has developed spots around her mouth and chin from where the dummy has been and I wonder if anyone else has experience of this and any tips on how to treat? She has reflux and vomits a lot so has a pretty miserable time of it sometimes and the dummy really helps her, i don't want to deprive her but also want to clear her skin up before it gets any worse.

thanks

My DD used to get similar marks in the winter. We just made sure we kept the area as dry as possible and used an antiseptic cream on her. It never seemed to cause her any pain or discomfort and cleared up on its own.

Dry skin, and then a slick of vaseline on top of it before popping dummy back in. Or vaseline on the dummy itself (the bit in contact with skin, not the teat, obviously). Works a treat.
