4 - email me!

I am tempted to rummage through cupboards and wrap up stuff for ds3 as he has no idea what toys we have in cupboards!

I have wine, dh is now in Bath on a night out, fire on, decs up ... lush!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 11/12/2009 21:23

4: how sturdy you think the leggings would be for a little girl who's quite rough on clothes? Been wondering about trying a pair or 2 for Abigail (though we don't need any cute critter on the bum as she's a bit too old for displaying that at age 4! LOL ) but something to keep her legs warm while wearing socks (instead of full tights) But she seems to put holes through the knee of even proper leggings so wasn't sure how these would stand up to her level of abuse!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 11/12/2009 21:27

off to try and wash mashed potatoes off a pair of longies! Thought Clement could keep warm today wearing them over his pocket nappies (so they don't totally go to waste now that we're not using fitteds!) and then I wondered afterwards if woolies are a good idea for an 8mo little boy who likes to eat ALL day long! He's always plastered with biscuits, rice cakes, bread & jam, veggies, cereal & milk - you name it, it's on his clothes! He is only happy if he's eating and then likes to share the food with his surroundings! Anyone else have a little one like this and still use woolies? just thinking they're not very practical, as I don't really have the time for hand washing his trousers every day! lol

Clement sounds like all my children, honestly they are perpetually filthy Tilly-Grace looked like a bloody hobo by the end of the day

Lost the huge tv on ebay 61inches may have been too big on reflection

Octohohohoho · 11/12/2009 21:37

Ernie always looks dirty - esp his face plus runny nose and dribble!

4CALLINGBIRDSandnotout · 11/12/2009 21:39

Yep dd3 and dd4 are having an unattratctive winter of snotty noses too!

Right i must go and talk to dp rather than be on t'internet!

mumFrostyface · 11/12/2009 21:51

Rachel, I have the ebay leggings in the largest size and they fit Lewis perfectly and he is only 2.9yrs and 30lb, not sure they would be big enough for a 4 year old unless she is tiny? Connor wore his overnight in a sleepingbag and they have gone a bit bobbly around the ankles where they've rubbed.

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 11/12/2009 22:00

Scotia. My thoughts are with you and your family over the next few hard weeks xx

busy busy busy here. Trying to clear some space in our junk spare room so we can move the toy tubs there so we can get the Christmas tree up this weekend. We have Too Much Stuff....boxes and boxes of arts and craft supplies, notebooks and stationery (DH is an addict, lol), knitting wool . It's quite cathartic throwing stuff out though...and we almost have organised shelves rather than random boxes of crap on the floor and shelves full of empty boxes!

Octo, I'm still having bank account issues; DH transferred a load of money, but it has disappeared into the ether! Hopefully the bank will have found it by Monday!

My DS1 was an immaculate child (PFB alert ). DD on the other hand is a muck magnet, and bumble more often than not rolls around in a grubbly babygro until lunchtime! Amazing how your standards slip a lot little more with each child

Octohohohoho · 11/12/2009 22:05

No worries Daisy.

kmummy · 11/12/2009 22:40

Hehe I think there's rule out there that everyone has a grubby child, dd2 would be mine!

Oh and mumface, nope no ITTIS! I think it may be time to email them rahhhhh!

Octohohohoho · 11/12/2009 23:05

thebluefoxategreensocks · 11/12/2009 23:23

mumface: thanks for the info about sizing, I expect you're right that they might not fit her. She's always been petite but she's just about well into the size clothes you'd expect her to be, so I think she's finally catching up!

daisy: Sounds similar to me - my first baby (Abigail) was always super clean & tidy! I never left a bit of anything dirty on her. She never had a mucky face and anytime something was spilled on her clothes, I always changed her right away! I still tried to keep up standards with my second (Benjamin) but he refused to be spoon fed, so meal times were always messy with brocolli everywhere, including his hair! But he wasn't crazy about eating, so it wasn't a case of food being dropped from the baby walker and then rolled on all day long (like we have now!)! And he probably had a clean change of clothes after a meal. But now with my third, I still get them all dressed in day clothes before breakfast (as has always been my habit) but food is often cleaned off his clothes and even when I'm going out for something, I often look over his clothes and brush them off, rather than puttin clean clothes on him! It's always a case of "is he really that messy, or will it be OK, it's not that noticable" - but with my first it was always "something is spilled on her clothes (even if not much!) she must have clean clothes before anyone sees her!" LOL I think by the time you have several kids, there's just not enough time to be changing their clothes all the time, much less washing them all!

Well, I was lazy and popped the woolies into the washing machine on the "hand wash" setting and they came out looking quite OK! So they're now lanolising - super easy and no scrubbing involved! Maybe they're not so bad afterall!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 11/12/2009 23:28

octo: lovely photos & cute boys you have!

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 11/12/2009 23:39

lol rach; I was like that with DS1, definately.

how long do you leave things when lanolizing? As y'all know, I'm a bit of a wooly newbie and was v impressed with our forst night in wool. Last night though; DH didn't change bumble first thing so he had been up for about an hour before I got to him, and when I lifted him out of the highchair his babygro felt damp (no changing into dayclothes BEFORE brekkie for us, lol). I assume that after a night's use, and then sitting on wet nappy it will squish through? Basically I'm wondering if my lanolozing wasn't quite up to scratch!

Gorgeous pics Octo; what handsome boys you have!

I'm sooo looking forward to getting the tree etc up this weekend!

Octohohohoho · 11/12/2009 23:58

Thanks!!

I think wool tends to feel damp alot - just my experience!

Check CNT on my thread for christmas draw

thebluefoxategreensocks · 12/12/2009 00:01

I usually leave my woolies soaking overnight, though there have been times when they've gone more like 2 days (oops!) and other times I've only left them 4-6 hours. I think as long as it's not the first time for them to be lanolised, then even half a day or so is OK. But yes, I think even with well lanolised woolies, if it was a night nappy left on and then the pressure of sitting on it, some dampness will be felt! I've frequently found they can feel a bit clammy even when worn during the day - or rather, my husband comes and tells me Clement is wet, but it's not actually wet, just a bit of clammy! Usually from him holding him, or baby sitting in his lap, etc.

Speaking of photos, I was just today editing/uploading pics of my brood! Complete with mucky little boys! Benjamin likes to share his yoghurt with Clement, which means a big mess!

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 12/12/2009 15:10

So sorry for the sad news scotia . Thinking of you and your family.

Rachel - My 2 are always getting food on their longies. We have a pot of "cheeky wipes" (Cotton terry wipes that I find too rough for bums) on the dining table in the tub they came in, with water and a bit of baby wash in. Everytime they eat I use them to clean them up and that includes the longies. I can usually just give it a good wipe with one of them and most of the time it goes, and if it doesn't I put it in the bathroom and once a week or so I wash the dirty ones and re-lanolise (we use fitteds). BUT saying that I have about 30 pairs of longies so I don't need to wash as often. Also though we are not doing BLW. But she does have lots of finger foods etc.

Elouise is wearing one of the disana longies today. They are OK, too long but anything non custom always is as we all have short legs! lol. I can't decide weather to keep the other pairs or not as they arn't really girls colours. The ones she has on are purple so they are great but we also have orange, green and one other colour, think blue . I just don't know if I will have clothes to go with them, especially as people often confuse my 2 for boys if they arn't covered in pink .

Am hoping to finally list some for sale nappies tomorrow. Think I will do one "type" at a time. Ie wraps one week, wool another, etc etc so it breaks it down a bit.

I am also thinking about taking some more coolababy AIOs out of my stock. They arn't mega absorbant but OK for when we are not using fitteds and so simple for other people to change. Neither of mine are heavy wetters anymore so getting on very well with them. They are the slimmest nappy we own. BUT I feel bad keep taking nappies out my stock as it sort of defeats the object?!?! But I guess still cheaper than if I wasn't a retailer. I must have about 10 yoyoos now! lol.

swampster · 12/12/2009 16:28

30 pairs of longies???
