She is 8.7 going on 24, knows everything, is cheeky, answers back and a totally indulged only child. This morning by accident I met two staff members from DD's school. One said to me, oh we were only just agreeing on how lovely and polite and thoughtful your dd is. I early fell down the stairs. It seems they have nominated her for an award at the christmas assmbly. I won't tell her incase her head swells but I was absolutely thrilled and pleased that all the 'what do yous says? had borne fruit.

Oh, good for her! And for you . Sometimes you can be their own worst critics, can't you?

Oh that's lovely.
It's funny how indulged children often are with other people, compared to their parents.
I had a friend at college who was renowned for being a Nice Person and we were when her parents came to pick her up how rude she was to them. I concluded that she was basically imitating their behaviour to her, in relation to the rest of the world, IYSWIM. Maybe that's what's going on here, ie you are nice to her so she is nice to everyone else, just not to you?
