Decent safety gate. What happened to the good old fashioned ones?

I need a pressure fit safety gate. All of the one's I have had so far have been shit. Three have broken. I liked the old fashioned suction ones but they don't seem to be around anymore.

Please can someone recommend one that fits properly and won't break?

I've used Lindam ones and they've lasted fine for about 18 months now although they do need to be tightened sometimes and there's no auto-closing mechanism on mine. I've not heard of suction gates before
