Ds has STILL got the runs.... help!

8 month old DS started nursery two weeks ago, just two days a week - he has settled well but since he started his poos have been disgusting!! It gradually got worse over the first week, (initally I put it down to teething as he had red cheeks and was miserable generally) then on Saturday (i.e. 9 days ago) he had 12 dirty nappies - I think that may have been a bug as I was ill the next day. Since then he has gone back to normal, ahem, frequency, i.e. 1 or 2 a day, was solid on Friday but now back to being runny and stinky. Any ideas? He is fine and well in himself, no temp, no signs of teething this week. But it's like having a newborn again - every poo is ending up around his neck . I wonder if it might be something I'm feeding him but although I've introduced some new foods since he started nursery he hasn't had them often enough for them to be having such a long term effect. Help!!

what new foods have you introduced?

Have you taken him swimming recently? My DD2 has picked up a bug in her poo,GP says its Cryptosporidium (sp?)
Apparently no treatment, have to just ride it out.Trouble is DH and I have had it too.It causes awful Diarrhoea, loss of appetite, nausea etc.Not pleasant!
probably not this, maybe just a normal bug,or reaction to some food. But if it persists, get a specimen and take it to your GP.

Sorry, didn't explain the swimming bit.GP says you can pick it up from there. Also Animals too, apparently.
