DD has weekly swimming lessons (15mths)and always seems cold so thinking about getting her a wetsuit type thingy to help her get abit warmer. She is very skinny and no fat on her bones to keep her warm bless her!

Anyone recommend something? Needs to have plenty of movement in it for her swimming lessons.

You want a neoprene suit. Hang on I'll go see where ours came from.

www.funswimshop.co.uk/splash-about-baby-wetsuit-1-p.asp We actually have the all in ones for both ours and they are fab but are quite bulky.

The Konfidence shortsuit is the one we have

I bought my 2 yo a wetsuit in Sainsburys. Don't know if they stock them at this time of year.

Waterbabies stock these and these

My DS has weekly swim lessons too and has had one of these since he was 1 (there is a smaller size for babies too) and I was so impressed, I bought another when he grew out of it and am just about to contemplate a third!

It's neoprene so keeps him warm (unlike the thinner ones you can get which are more to keep the sun off - I bought one of those from Next and regretted it) and looks very comfy. Plenty of room for a swim nappy underneath too.

Our pool is very cold due to the rubbish building it's in and he never shivers - I wish I could get one in my size!!

Goldensnitch - I wear a surfing short wetsuit in our local swimming pool. O'Neill make them! People look at you like you are a nutter but I'm nice and warm while they are shivering

CarGirl · 15/11/2009 16:00

I've got one of these dd has grown out of if you're interested in buying it it's a neoprene wet suit shortie one similar to the konfidence one.

GoldenSnitch · 15/11/2009 16:12

Thanks WMMC but I'm 34 weeks pregnant and I don't think even O'Neill make maternity wetsuits

Maybe after baby is born - but by then it'll be Summer and they'll have finished the new building so I probably won't need one! A few more months shivering for me I think!

whomovedmychocolate · 15/11/2009 16:16

Perhaps you could cut a circle out and get a bump cosy?

pigleychez · 15/11/2009 16:24

Cargirl- could you email me with possibly a pic? What size is it? DD is 15mths but pretty slim.
How much were you thinking of for it?
