Is there supposed to be an 8 month check??

DS and I haven't seen our HV since he was about 6 weeks old - didn't get a 3 month check as they're short staffed (but we were collared at baby group and early years bod made sure we had no concerns), DS is now nearly 9 months... is there supposed to be another check? I don't have any concerns as such but it would be nice to run a few things by them!

there is supposed to be a check but in our area the HVs are too short staffed to do them! Their answer is, if you have any concerns call us and we will see you

..... so I'd say, if you'd like to see one for a chat call them, I am sure they will see you

ours are only on request here now.

Yes but hv often busy/short so dd got hers at about 11 mnths iirc.

If your lo is meeting milestones I wouldn't worry too much tbh

I think theyve done away with it now I never got one with dc3

They've done away with it here too. Ds2 got one though because he happened to be 8 months old and with me at the time ds1 went for his (very late) 2 yr check.
